- Built image acquisition and hardware triggering for Basler industrial cameras with the pylon C++ SDK, and tied the inspection flow to production equipment through PLCs.
- Led the inspection Web UI from v8.2 to v8.3.8, adding three languages and production-line alerts. It now runs on more than 10 lines.
- Maintain the PyTorch / Ultralytics YOLO segmentation training framework and reworked multi-class inference, taking mAP from 0.46 to 0.70.
- Run the self-hosted Kubernetes cluster and GitLab CI. Recovered from a Redis storage-layer failure and rebuilt a lost PostgreSQL (CloudNativePG) cluster from backup.
KIX HUANG黃翰俞
Software engineer · firmware to factory floor
Hi, I'm Kix. For three years I've written software that has to keep running: display firmware for cars on an Infineon TRAVEO T2G MCU, then an optical inspection system that now runs on more than 10 production lines, plus the Kubernetes cluster underneath it.
Main quest
- Wrote display-module firmware on the Infineon TRAVEO T2G automotive MCU, including SPI drivers for T-CON, Source and Bias ICs down to register access and power-on sequencing.
- Designed a priority-based task scheduler with an alarm mechanism for panel init, parameter updates and fault handling.
- Brought up GMSL with Analog Devices SerDes, and built dual-bank firmware updates so a failed OTA update rolls back on its own.
- Set up the team's CI/CD for builds and flash verification, and an Electron + C# tuning tool that FAEs and customers used on site.
Side quests
Things I built after hours, mostly to make my own home and desk behave.
awmouseiPhone & Apple Watch as a mouse
A Go host injects input on macOS and Windows and detects when Windows UIPI blocks input to elevated windows. The phone and watch connect over tailcat. It has 64 unit tests, and every tagged release is signed, notarized and shipped to TestFlight and GitHub Releases.
GITHUBsony-soundbar-bleVolume control with no official API
Reverse-engineered a Sony soundbar's proprietary BLE volume protocol from btsnoop captures of its iOS app, then rebuilt it as a Windows daemon with heartbeats, auto-reconnect and self-restart, plus a click-through volume overlay.
GITHUBlgtv-triggerThe PC runs the living room
Listens for Win32 display-off and lock events to turn an LG TV off, wakes it and switches its input from a global hotkey, and routes volume keys to the soundbar daemon. Pauses itself during Sunshine or Parsec streaming.
GITHUBMobile POSA point-of-sale app in daily use
Takes orders, assigns daily ticket numbers and prints receipts to a Bluetooth thermal printer over ESC/POS. I forked the open-source bluetooth_print plugin to add the automatic paper cutting its iOS side was missing.
